In preparation for a US attack on Syria, Environmental Protection Minister Amir Peretz ordered members of his staff to conduct a series of tests, to ensure that all establishments storing hazardous materials had the proper procedures in place for emergencies.
Earlier, Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav requested of the Home Front Defense Ministry that they dilute the hazardous substances located in Haifa Bay in the ammonia tank and the tank station, due to the security situation in Syria. (Yuval Man, Yoav Zitun)
