Kuwaiti report: EU officials warned Assad from attacking Israel

Senior EU officials told Kuwaiti newspaper Al Rai that Syrian President Bashar Assad was warned not to attack Israel as a response to the Western offensive planned against him. According to the same sources, Assad delivered a message through diplomatic channels that he does not intend on attacking Israel since it would lead Syria to destructive and unwanted directions.
The sources further added that Western countries asked Israel to act with restraint to the possible response from Assad. They added that Israel agreed to that on condition of it staying within logical and reasonable terms". (Elior Levy)
