Gantz discussed the latest developments in Syria with the paratroopers and later visited an artillery battery and talked to its operators.
On Thursday it was reported that weekend leaves were cancelled for soldiers serving on the northern district close to the Syrian border.
However, following a situation assessment the decision was reversed and several soldiers were allowed to take a home leave.
