Obama on Syria: Military action planned, after Congressional vote

US President Barack Obama spoke on Saturday at a White House press conference on Syria. He said that the US had determined it should take military action against Syrian regime targets, but that the operation would be limited in scope. Obama also said that he would be seeking authorization from Congress to act against Syria with force, and he had spoken on the subject with the four top Congressional leaders. A debate will be scheduled in Congress on the issue when it returns to session in ten days. (Reuters)
