"The military's preparation (ahead of a possible American strike in Syria) was responsible. There was alertness and we bolstered our defensive and offensive capabilities without panicking," GOC Northern Command Major-General Yair Golan said during a meeting with heads of local councils in the north.
"We did not expect damage to the civilian sphere and life carried on as usual," Golan added. (Yoav Zitun)
