On the eve of Rosh Hashana, the population of Israel stands at about 8.081 million people. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, Jewish citizens make up 75.1% of the population, while Arabs make up 20.7% of the population. The rest, some 4.2%, are non-Arab Christians, members of other faiths, or those who have no marked religion.
From last Rosh Hashana Israel's population grew by 142,000 people. Some 163,000 babies were born, and about 40,000 people passed away. (Ynet)
