Former judge Dan Cohen: My punishment is severe
Former judge Dan Cohen, accused of taking bribes totaling millions of shekels while managing the country's electricital company, said during a hearing in Tel Aviv District Court that he agreed to a plea bargain to take responsibility for his actions.
Cohen was convicted of bribery in the plea deal in which the parties sought to sentence him to six years. Cohen argued this was more severe and his agreement was evidence of his remorse. However, Judge Khaled Kabub said a plea sentence of six years was the lower end of the limits of punishment. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
