US Marines website hacked, sent to pro-Assad note

A US Marine Corps spokesman says the Marines' recruiting website was hacked but would not say who was responsible. The site was redirected temporarily to a message from the Syrian Electronic Army.
The hacker group in the past has claimed responsibility for disrupting The New York Times website, Twitter and other media sites the group sees as sympathetic to Syria's rebels in that country's civil war. The message to the Marine Corps was a plea for Americans to fight alongside the Syrian army and not help the rebels. (AP)
