Kerry in Senate hearing: Netanyahu assured Israel can defend itself
US Secretary of State John Kerry has said in the Senate hearing about Syria that he spoke with PM Benjamin Netanyahu Monday and was assured that Israel feels it can defend itself from any retaliation by Assad if a US strike should occur.
Kerry added that if Assad is "foolish enough" to react to any strike, he will summon a response he cannot deal with, but that that does not mean going to war. Kerry also said that Moscow has no ideological commitment in Syria, but rather a geo-political one. (Ynet)
