Man allegedly burns spouse with hot iron

Sudanese national suspects spouse to be cheating, allegedly assaults her after she denies, beats her with electric cable and presses hot iron to her body

A Sudanese national allegedly burned his spouse with a hot iron causing her injuries all over her body, apparently after he suspected she was cheating on him, said an indictment filed on Wednesday with Tel Aviv's District Court.

 

According to the indictment, when the woman tried to escape he continued to beat her using an electric wire, causing her further injuries.

The two have been living in Tel Aviv for the past three years, raising together a two-year-old son. Last month, said the indictment, the man returned from a night out and asked his spouse to iron some clothes.

 

He started taunting the woman, asking her whether she intends to meet her boyfriend. When she replied she has no boyfriend he allegedly attacked her.

 

The State Prosecutor's Office charged the suspect with premeditated causing of injury and aggravated assault, and have asked for his remand pending the completion of legal proceedings.

 

According to the indictment the suspect confessed to a police officer: "I beat her, she's a whore, she's sleeping with another man, I'm not afraid to confess in court."
