Egypt: Interior minister escapes assassination near home
The al-Ahram Egyptian newspaper reported that the Egyptian interior minister, General Mohammed Ibrahim, escaped an assassination attempt after a car bomb exploded near his motorcade in the Cairo neighborhood of Nasser. At least four people were injured by the blast.
The neighborhood is recognized as a Muslim Brotherhood base. (Roi Kais, news agencies)
