State to compensate family of child whose body was corrupted

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court ruled Sunday that the state will compensate the family of a 12-year-old whose face was posthumously corrupted by rats at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute.

According to the court, staff at the institute made up the child's face in order to hide the damage, and made no notification to the family. The state will bear legal expenses and compensate the family for NIS150,000  ($42,000). (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
