Syrian government says it wants to prevent war

Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said the Syrian government supports the Russia initiative for international weapon control. Al-Halqi said the government wants to prevent further bloodshed in Syria and a war that may reach beyond the region.
The Syrian ambassador in Lebanon, Ali Abdel-Karim, said the Russian initiative is a "way out of the embarrassment the US government got itself into." (Roi Kais)
