IDF soldier sustains head injury due to fall

Soldier trips, falls down flight of stairs, evacuated to hospital to examine moderate injuries

An IDF soldier sustained moderate injuries Tuesday after falling down a flight of stairs in a post near Mount Hermon.

 

The soldier was evacuated via helicopter to the Rambam Medical Center in Haifa. The soldier's family was notified of his injury.

The soldier, a combatant with the Nahal Brigade, most likely tripped and fell.

 

According to initial details, the soldier sustained injuries to his head and legs. Soldiers at the post tended to him and called military paramedics to the scene.

 

Though he was conscious and responsive, the soldier was evacuated to hospital, as the paramedics decided that his head injury called for hospitalization.

 

The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident.

 

Last month, a 20-year-old IDF soldier collapsed during training at a base in central Israel. He was rushed to the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit in very serious condition. The IDF said the Medical Corps is checking whether medical officials had cleared him for running.
