Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon recommended extending the tenure of Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Beny Gantz, to four years . “The chief of staff has been leading the IDF to accomplishments over the past two and a half years, most of which I cannot describe, but they allow Israeli citizens to go about their daily lives,” Ya'alon said.
“In front of us there are great challenges ... from up close and from afar, and I believe that Chief of Staff Gantz is the right man, in the right place,” he added. (Yoav Zitun and Attila Somfalvi)
