Putin: Iran has right to peaceful use of atomic energy

Russian President Vladimir Putin praised what he said was Iran's readiness "to be more open in its nuclear program."

Speaking at a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Russian leader said, "We believe Iran, as any other state, has the right for peaceful use of atomic energy, including enrichment. At the same time, such activity must be put under IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) comprehensive control." (Ynet)
