Peres: Military threat against Syria should be lesson to Iran

None

At the official ceremony for the 40th anniversary of Yom Kippur War, President Shimon Peres said that "the Egyptian president at the time, Anwar Sadat, surprised us when he came to Jerusalem. Syria, who was Egypt's partner in war, refused to be partner for peace."

Peres added: "Assad must comply with disarming from chemical weapons. The US and Russia are leading this move as Obama keeps clarifying that the military option is still on the table. The military threat backing the disarmament agreement should also serve as a lesson to the leader of Iran." (Noam Dvir)
