VIDEO – The use of Israeli high-tech surveillance cameras on the Indian metro is yet another example of the rising global prominence of the Jewish state’s technology sector, which is now widely considered to be second only to Silicon Valley.

Around 500 Israeli-made cameras have already been installed on the Kolkata subway, which contain a host of features,
including night-time vision, and will eventually be hooked up to the main security control facility.
Other security features being brought in include door-frame metal detectors, portable baggage scanners and bomb suppression equipment. Four sniffer dogs will also be deployed to search for explosives within the metro system.
