Interior Ministry recognizes 2 men as boy's biological fathers
For the first time, the Interior Ministry recognized two men as a child's biological fathers. In December 2011, for the first time in Israel, a transgender gave birth to his first boy; however, the Interior Ministry refused to recognize his partner as the biological father of their shared son.
Only after the couple turned to Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Knesset's Internal Affairs Committee Chairwoman Knesset Member Miri Regev, the ministry agreed to list both fathers as the child's parents. (Omri Efraim)
