Supreme Court: Prevention of Infiltration Law unconstitutional

None

An extended meeting of the nine Supreme Court judges discussed the legality of the 2012 Knesset law to prevent infiltration, which allows police to detain illegal immigrants for as long as three years.

The ruling stated that the judges unanimously determined that the law was illegal as it hurts the basic human right for freedom. The court ruled that all articles of the law should be cancelled. (Aviel Magnezi and Omri Efraim)
