The heads of regional councils Eshkol and Sha'ar HaNgev expressed disappointment following IDF's decision to halt soldiers from securing any border communities other than those near Gaza.
"The decision leaves residents exposed to dangers, in a time when the border with Egypt is unstable. The fact soldiers are there makes us feel significantly safer," they said. (Ilana Curiel and Matan Zuri)
