A gunman in central Austria shot and killed two police officers and the driver of an emergency rescue vehicle and was firing sporadically at police after holing up Tuesday in a farm building, Interior Minister Karl-Heinz Grundboeck said, adding that a third policeman was missing and presumed to be a hostage of the suspect.
The slayings occurred overnight in the nearby town of Annaberg. State broadcaster ORF reported that the suspect was a 55-year-old poacher. (AP)
