UN spokesman Martin Nesirky told Iranian news agency IRNA that if the touted meeting between Iranian President Hassan Rohani and US President Barack Obama along the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York this week, actually comes to fruition, it will be historic and carry influence.
He said that such a meeting could take place during dinner with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday. This weekend White House Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes denied that a meeting was planned between the two leaders. (Ynet)
