Hadassah: Rabbi Yosef Ovadia won't require permanent pacemaker
None
The deputy director of Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, Prof. Yaakov Naparstek, updated that Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's doctors decided to not have him implanted with a permanent pacemaker.
"Only an electrode was replaced," said Prof. Naparstek, who added that "the rabbi underwent the procedure successfully in the cardiology department and has returned to the intensive care unit, where he continues receiving the same treatments that are stabilizing his condition." Prof. Naparstek stressed that the rabbi's condition is still defined as serious and "there is danger, though not immediate, to his life." (Noam Dvir)
