US National Security Adviser Susan Rice made clear that the United States views as questionable the recent positive statements made by Iran. Rice said that the US would not agree to Iran enriching uranium on its own.
She added that President Barack Obama chose his words carefully when he said Iran had the right to use enriched uranium, but not to enrich uranium itself. If Iran fulfilled its obligations to the IAEA and the Security Council resolutions, it would have the right to use energy for peaceful purposes, Rice said. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
