Chemical experts say no reason to doubt Damascus

International experts charged with destroying Syria's chemical arsenal will meet regime officials in Damascus on Tuesday and have no reason to doubt the inventory supplied so far, they said. The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons is initially dispatching around 20 experts to Syria where they will begin the task of destroying the country's chemical weapons.

"At this point, we have absolutely no reason to doubt the information provided by the Syrian regime," an OPCW official who cannot be named for security reasons told journalists at headquarters in The Hague on Sunday. (AFP)
