Israel 20th on freedom of travel index

List topped by UK, Finland and Sweden, where passport holders are able to visit 173 nations without visa. Israeli passport holders have free access to 144 countries

VIDEO – The latest Visa Restrictions Index from Henley & Partners has been released, detailing the best and worst passports to have based on how many countries you can visit visa-free.

The United Kingdom has come out on top, tied with Finland and Sweden. Passport holders from the top three countries are able to visit 173 nations without a visa.

 

Countries tied for second place with 172 freely-accessible countries include the United States, Germany, Luxembourg, and Denmark.

 

Rounding out third place with visa-free access to 171 nations include Belgium, Italy, and the Netherlands. The list counts some 219 countries as destinations.

Israel is ranked number 20 with 144 freely-accessible countries.

 

Nations with the least travel freedom are predominantly Muslim majority nations. Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, and the Palestinian territories round out the bottom five on the Visa Restrictions Index. The Palestinians are the fifth most restricted, being able to travel to only 36 nations.
