Housing and Construction Minister Uri Ariel (Habayit Hayehudi) delivered a statement in regards to the death of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, and said that "Rabbi Ovadia Yosef was the greatest arbiter and teacher of our generation, and he devoted his life to the Torah and Am Yisrael."
According to him, "all of Am Yisrael mourns the death of Maran. His departure leaves a great hole in the heart of the nation." (Moran Azulay)
