Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz expressed his grief over the death of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and said: "Am Yisrael lost a dear man today, a great rabbi and a great intellectual. I had the privilege to read some of his books and meet with him about a dozen times and I always was greatly impressed by his wisdom, his expertise, and his concern for all of Am Yisrael. I am sorry for the great loss of the Yosef family and the members of the Shas party." (Moran Azulay)
