Aryeh Deri, who joined the mourning tent, expressed his deep grief: "All night I thought about what he would have asked of us, and it is clear to me he would want us to rise up and carry on the legacy."
Deri addressed the great number of people who attended the funeral: "Even though he was a leader of a political movement, his strength was far greater. If the funeral had been more organized then more people from around the world would have attended as well. He was the leader of all of Am Yisrael." (Elior Levy)
