US denies reports it will freeze aid to Egypt

Caitlin Hayden, the spokesperson for the US National Security Council, is denying reports that the US is freezing military aid to Egypt. She noted that the government will issue a statement on the matter in the coming days and added that President Barack Obama in the past stressed that aid will continue.

Earlier, a US official said that military aid to Egypt will be halted due to violence in the country which killed dozens this week. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
