Charges: Stabbed man to death over debt

An indictment for murder was filed in Lod District court against Eran Karni, 42, who at the beginning of September was charged with the murder of debt collector Moshe Akbi from Kfar Yavetz in the Sharon. According to the indictment, the two had argued over a debt of several thousand shekels.

On the night of the murder, the accused hid in bushes outside the home of Akbi. Akbi exited his home, Karni ran at him, and stabbed him to death. Prosecutors have asked to hold the accused until the end of proceedings. (Naama Cohen-Friedman)
