None

Canadian author Alice Munro has won the Nobel Prize in literature. Munro, who is known for her short stories, beat Japanese author Haruki Murakami (IQ84, Kafka on the Shore, Norwegian Wood) who was considered the frontrunner for the honor. The Swedish Academy, which selects Nobel literature winners, called her a "master of the contemporary short story".

Munro has also won the Man Booker International Prize and is a three-time winner of Canada's Governor General's Award for fiction. (Ynet, AP)
