Iran: Sanctions causing 'irreparable' damage to environment

The director of Iran's Department of the Environment, Masoumeh Ebtekar has said that international sanctions on Iran have inflicted "irreparable" damage onto the Islamic Republic’s environment. 


“These sanctions have affected all aspects of the people’s lives, and unfortunately they have had an adverse effect on the environment as well,” Ebtekar was quoted by Iranian Press-TV as saying in a Saturday interview. Iran's highest ranking female minister described the environmental ramifications of the sanctions as “irreparable.” (Ynet)
