Bennett: Shared goal with Rabbi Yosef to preserve Jewish spirit

Economy Minister Naftali Bennett visited the home of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and said: "I went into politics so that people would better know Israeli tradition and to strengthen our Jewish identity, I know that is what was painful for the rabbi. Our common goal was to bring back the Jewish neshama to Am Yisrael."
Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's family told Bennett that he asked to meet him before Rosh Hashana, in light of tensions between the two, however did not make it. They asked in his name for Bennett to preserve the Jewish identity of Israelis. (Kobi Nachshoni)
