Histadrut leadership to convene to discuss Teva layoffs

Histadrut Labor Federation Chairman Ofer Eini will hold a special meeting with the union's leadership in wake of Teva and Bazan's announcement that they will fire hundreds of workers. The heads of the workers' committees from both companies will also join the meeting.
Teva is expected to layoff around 700-800 workers in Israel by the end of 2014 as part of a 10% downsizing of its international workforce. Sunday the Bazan oil refiners announced they will layoff 240 of its 1,500 employees. (Billie Frankel)
