Eini: Finance minister should not be indifferent in face of layoffs

Histadrut Labor Federation Chairman Ofer Eini commented on the expected massive worker layoffs by Teva and Bazan, saying: "I hope these are local incidents and not a market trend. I will meet with Teva's management and will attempt to enter into negotiations with them in a bid to mitigate the dismissals," Eini said.
"If, God forbid, these are a market trend, then the government cannot sit idly by. The finance minister should not remain indifferent, we have yet to hear from him on this issue. When workers are fired, the finance minister should demand explanations." (Gilad Morag)
