Peres at Rabin memorial: Murderer will never be pardoned

President Shimon Peres said at the ceremony marking 18 years since the murder of Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, "The murderer will never be pardoned. The murdered will never be granted clemency. I feel as if Yitzhak was killed just yesterday."
He added, "Yitzhak knew the way to peace – there is nothing more difficult than it. He never for a moment deluded himself about that, but he believed that the Zionist interest and the the supreme national interest is ensuring Israel's future." (Noam Dvir)
