4 Palestinian girls found dead in locked vehicle

Girls most likely entered vehicle while parents were busy picking olives in Tarqumiyah. Fifth child in hospital in serious condition

Four Palestinian girls, aged two to six, were found dead in a vehicle in the West Bank town of Tarqumiyah. Another girl, three-years-old, was rushed to the government hospital in Hebron in serious condition.

The Tarqumiyah council head explained the girls - all related - were with their families, who were picking olives in a nearby field.

 

According to him, the girls went away when their parents' attention was diverted, and accidentally locked themselves in the vehicle, where they were found unconscious by their relatives. 

 

The girls were rushed to two hospitals by Red Crescent ambulances - where four of them were pronounced dead.

 

Palestinian security services are investigating the possibility the girls were left in the vehicle by their parents.
