Sa'ar: We'll formulate new 'infiltrator' law which will lead to change

None

Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar commented on the issue of illegal immigration while visiting southern Tel Aviv: "The High Court's ruling was a major set back. But we will not give up or change our policy. We'll return to the Knesset with a new law to stop the influx illegal infiltration into Israel."

The High Court ruled that the law, which allows the State to jail illegal immigrants without trial for up to three years, is unconstitutional. "I cannot agree with the court's ruling," said Sa'ar, whose alternative bill cuts custody time for immigrants by half. (Gilad Morag)
