Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar visited the Ynet News studio and addressed the relationship between the central and local governments. "The system in Israel does not give enough leeway for action and local governments are too dependent on central government," said Saar. The minister noted that he is enacting more legislative changes that will increase the scope of local authorities.
Regarding local elections Tuesday, Saar said, "The topic of education is important to me...In my opinion, it will slowly become a central issue for the citizens of Israel." (Atilla Shmolfavi)
