Defense Ministry eliminates security for Gaza vicinity towns
The Defense Ministry announced its final decision to abolish security for the 22 communities in the Gaza vicinity area. In response, Alon Shuster and Yair Farjun, heads of the Gaza vicinity local authorities, slammed the decision, saying it shows insensitivity and misunderstanding of reality.
Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon refused alternative outlines in which security will remain for the communities most at risk. The decision was made about a month ago, but its implementation was postponed to allow residents to prepare for the new situation. (Matan Zuri)
