Minister Erdan to Ynet: Israel is ready for earthquake
None
Home Front Defense Minister Gilad Erdan told Ynet that Israel is not prepared for earthquakes: "Defending against earthquakes is as important as airbags in a vehicle. In the most dangerous places the State has yet to supply an adequate response."
A scenario presented by the inter-ministerial steering committee for earthquakes foresaw 7,000 casualties, but a Ynet investigation showed that a year after the Home Front drill at least half of the conclusions were not implemented. (Yoav Zitun, Attila Somfalvi)
