Merkel: restore trust after US surveillance flap

German Chancellor Angela Merkel says that trust between the US and its partners has to be restored following allegations that American intelligence targeted her cellphone.
Merkel said she told President Barack Obama in a phone call that "spying among friends cannot be." She said there needs to be trust among allies and partners and "such trust now has to be built anew." (AP)
