Report: UN envoy to Syria will arrive to Damascus Monday

According to Syrian state newspaper Al-Watan, UN Envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi will arrive in Damascus on Monday to meet with state officials and opposition representatives to discuss details regarding the international peace conference that is expected to be held in Geneva at the end of the month.
The paper did not report about an expected meeting with Syrian President Bashar Assad, who implicitly criticized the UN envoy in an interview last week, saying "we ask of Brahimi to stick to his task and not deviate from it." (Roi Kais)
