Israel renews ties with UN Human Rights Council

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed the Foreign Ministry to send an Israeli delegation to the UN Human Rights Council's hearing in Geneva on Tuesday in order to file a report on the condition of human rights in Israel.

Israel's ties with Council were cut in 2012. The decision to renew cooperation with the Council was made due to the progress in the talks between Israel and the West regarding Israeli demand to revoke the council's Article 7, which singles out Israel in the Council's discussions.
