Women of Wall meet with gov’t rep, present demands
Women of the Wall representatives met with Cabinet Secretary Avichai Mandelblit, who also serves as head of the committee appointed to hold talks with the group. In the meeting, the women demanded participation in the management of the pluralistic prayer plaza, which is supposed to open in the western Kotel, and equal budget for the plaza as the other plazas.
In addition, they demanded that until the creation of the new plaza, they be allowed to pray the traditional monthly prayer in the existing plaza, including the reading of the Torah.. (Kobi Nachshoni)
