Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar announced that the main points have been laid out for a legislative arrangement to suspend mayors, in the case of a serious indictment against them. Within a week, Sa'ar will circulate a memorandum of law on the issue.

During discussions with representatives of the Ministry of Justice and local government, general support was expressed for the legislative arrangement, to balance the values ​​of integrity and public confidence in local government, and the process of direct election of the head of the authority and the right to elect and be elected.
