The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed the city's district court with an indictment on charges of kidnapping for ransom and blackmail against three residents of the Bedouin village of Tarabin and a resident of Rishon Lezion. The four have been arrested.
According to the indictment, they abducted a Jerusalem resident who owed one of them NIS 3,000 in debt and demanded his family pay a ransom of NIS 15,000 for his release. According to the indictment, the man was held at first in the Bedouin village, and was later taken to a mountainous area in Israel's south, until the ransom was paid and he was released.
