Snowden may testify in US-EU eavesdropping cases

Former US intelligence consultant Edward Snowden, a refugee in Russia, could testify before German prosecutors in the case of alleged eavesdropping on the phone calls of German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders, a Russian source quoted by the Interfax news agency said on Friday.

While it would be difficult for Snowden to leave Russia, he could answer German prosecutors' questions in writing or by meeting with them in Russia, said a source close to the situation. (AFP)
